L402 FEL Float Problem

Leveling driveway with B7800 and L402 FEL and using the "float" position on the FEL to backdrag. All of a sudden the joystick will not stay locked up in the "float" position, it just jumps back down. It will still work as float but I have to hold it up there...anyone had this problem before? It's only 3 wks. old so warranty will cover repair but I'm just curious before they come and pick it up tomorrow.

Same thing happened to mine. Detent had metal shavings in it and jammed it open. If it's under warranty sent it back. If it's broke they'll need to get another one in there anyway. Don't bother with it yourself.

I called the dealer, scheduled the situation with him and kept the tractor at the house til he was ready for it. Had it back in 2 days. More common problem that you'd think but........

Had same problem 2 weeks ago. Service guy came out with new cap that holds detent balls. When he removed old cap it was about half full of water, balls would not move. New cap that he installed had drain hole on bottom to allow moisture to drain. Seems like someone knows there is a problem.

Actually heard of this also. Some feel filling the dead space with grease is a better option. Water won't have a place to collect and the hole is subject to dirt ect.... coming in. If the hole is small enough I can't see where this would hurt
