Just give them a call and ask them the price and they will tell you $17,900 with LA703 loader. I just bought it yesterday. I have stopped in there several times but I ended up doing the deal on the phone and went through Kubota finance for the promotional rate. I had the tires filled with fluid with additional weight for an extra $300. I also chose the ag tires which are base cost. The R4's are a little more. That price does not include tax. I am tax exempt for a farm. I had been reading everybody on here paying $19k and more for the same thing so I feel like I got a really good deal. You certainly did do alright, but adding filled R4's seems to close the gap between 17,900 and 19,200. Still yet, your dealer has them priced quite nicely.

Wow that is a great price! Why can't I live near a dealer like that?! I'd order from there and pay delivery, but I'd hate to see the look on my local dealer's face when I took it in for service. They'd probably get their "revenge" over time by making sure I never got a break on service....

if you lived in maine and had a b7610 and wanted to move to texas- would you sell the 7610 in maine and buy a replacement in texas for fear the texas dealer will frown on you? do you buy automobiles from the dealer closest to your home regardless of price? call their bluff and save your money. most of the time the service guys hate the sales guys anyway.

Pricematch your local dealer. Say look I can spend Saturday driving 5 hours to get this better deal or you can just write this up right now and we can get this done if you come down to $17,900 with FEL. Put it back on there shoulders.
BTW, the L4400 is a wonderful tractor. I have racked up 1 hour on it so far. Its extremely powerful. I have uprooted 4-6 inch trees with it and all 4 tires with spin without hte motor showing any signs of stress. The high gear is very loud which I have read about. It doesn't bother me as long as its working correctly. The low and reverse shuttle shift is wonderful for FEL work. I don't think hydro's would be as much fun. That would make it way to easy. Moving from one area to another and needing service is one thing, but in my particular case, I've been "working" this dealer for about a month now, working numbers, test drives, asking questions, etc. It wouldn't be right, IMO, to go out of state and buy one out from under him to save a few bucks. But now knowing that they can be had for $17.9k, I will certainly use that to my advantage to work the price a little more...
And my closest dealer is small, the sales guys and service guys are pretty much the same guys...

ratter- i worked my local dealer for some time too. when i found a machine used with 37 hours that saved me over $5000 i bought it. went back, told the dealer and he said he would have bought it too. if he had been angry all he would be doing is driving my attachment, parts and service business elsewhere. i still can't believe y'all are paying in excess of $2000 extra for a machine under the belief the dealer is going to roll the red carpet out for you when you need service.
they make money repairing the tractors and it is part of their business model. just how often are you expecting trouble? it's a kubota!

I just spoke to somebody at Humphreys who did confirm the $17.9 price. But to go get it, I'd have to take a day or two and 4 or 5 tanks of gas to bring it back. That's pretty costly and once you start adding up, my local price doesn't look so bad.

I don't know. 2 days off of work= $300 5 tanks of gas at $65 each equals $325. Saving another $1500 and an experience you'll never forget. Plus the look you get when you pull that new Kubota L4400 home to PA=== PRICELESS!

cI clearly said that I'd use the fact that I know they can be had for $17.9 to work the price on my local dealer. But being that he is my local dealer who has spent time explaining things to me, letting me test drive equipment, etc., I have no qualms giving him a larger profit than a faceless out-of-stater. They're all making a profit, so who's to say what is overpaying? I'll bet that someone, somewhere, paid less than $5500 for that ATV you bought. Does that mean you overpaid? IMO, overpaying is in the eye of the beholder. If I can walk away feeling like I didn't get screwed, and didn't screw anybody in the process, I'm fine with that, even if it means a little price-difference either way.

Don't get me wrong, I'm never one to turn down saved money. But the equation isn't that simple. Putting aside any service-after-the-sale issue, my other biggest problem is my trade-in. I'm trading in a beaten-down old B1550. My local dealer has already made what I think is a fair offer for it and has agreed to credit anything that I've recently spent on repairs on it if I buy a new machine. Even if I got a quote over the phone on my trade-in, what if I drag it eight hours away and the dealer starts playing games? If I'm 20 minutes from home and the dealer plays games, it's very easy for me to take my ball and go home. But if I'm 500 miles from home and halfway committed to his deal, he's got me by the short hairs and he knows it!

paying any price to a local dealer- under the assumption they will treat you like a king when you have problems- does not make sense to me. there are lots of reasons to buy local other than that. i try to support local business when i can.
from your description your trade will be like the car business. they will jack up their price to aquire your trade for basicly nothing.
you may want to consider a straight purchase on the new and have them sell yours on consignment or list it somewhere yourself. perhaps they will meet you in the middle on price if you back out the trade. pretty tough to determine the actual price with a trade involved.
the L4400 is a great tractor. you will love it regardless of how much you pay.

"Better" is highly subjective and highly relative, of course, but I think it's pretty hard to argue with the existence of that phenomenon. Like I said, it's just human nature. Whether or not it's worth paying more for that "better" service, well that's a different question altogether. And if it is worth more, how much more? Another question....
