Very good videos, the 4600 handled those bales with ease. Do you know approximately what the weigh?

Great vids! Thanks for shooting.

I have same forks spear as u along with Titan's 3pt spear. Haven't used yet so glad to see in action.

As for lift height:
LA724. LA854
Max to bucket pin. 102.2in. 112.7in
Max under level bucket 94.3in. 104.7in

Not sure if mine could get that 3rd bail up there either.

As a starting point you want at least half of your max loader lift capacity hanging off the 3pt. If not more for optimal stability.

Your certainly right ! That was just for kicks, and if for nothing else to illustrate to persons curious what the absolute reach of the L4600 with LA764 when all the way up and with round bales.

A few observations: This video very much supports the idea that HST machines are much better when running loaders on these kind of jobs. While I love a gear drive model and actually prefer it, its very clear to see that if the majority of your work will be with the loader, you will be smoother and less operator work with a HST. Also, the L4600 is certainly capable of doing this kind of work, but if you are loading bales all the time (or other things/weights similar), most likely the MX5100 would be the machine for you as I understand it has a bit more reach, chassis weight, and front tires are larger to deal with forward weight. I wont be using my 4600 for this kind of task too often and bought it because of its smaller size and so my wife could use it safely in tight quarters. but I hope these few vids will show that the 4600 can indeed do these jobs if you need to, but for a few thousand more, the MX5100 might be a better choice for you.

Makes me wonder why HST tops out around 60HP in the Kubota lineup.

I guess change happens slow when people have been using a given technology all their life. I remember when Deutz brought the air cooled diesel into the Ag market (Deutz Allis) , in my area you couldnt convince the old farmers/ranchers here that was a good idea and the brand didnt sell here and most dealers closed doors.

At that point they are more of an ag tractor than utility tractor. The 15% hst penalty becomes more important than the extra utility.

I'd also guess the fact loaders are less common on the bigger tractors than on the utility size has a bit to do with things as well.

It may have something to do with the added cost of building an HST that will stand up to the extra hp, just a guess on my part. Traditionally the bigger ag tractors have been gear drive, now more convenient with hydraulic shuttles.
