That's a great tractor you're looking at. I have one just like it and it's a real workhorse. Until the
L5030 came along, the
L4610 was Kubota's largest compact tractor, but it wasn't designed for heavy duty commercial service. However, the 46HP meant some units got put into agricultural/industrial or other uses where a heavier utility tractor might have been more appropriate.
So, in addition to the general condition of the unit, I'd be looking for signs the unit was used in some kind of heavy-duty operation. For example:
1. Tires... how much tread? More wear on front or back? Front wear may indicate heavy FEL use, for example.
2. FEL... the 852 loader was first of a newer generation of HD loaders for Kubota compacts. Condition of bucket, control lever, cylinders, etc. should tell you something of whether it has had normal use or "industrial" use.
3. Condition of 3pt... Look for signs of heavy use.
4. Cosmetic... sheetmetal, etc. ... If it's seen heavy service, there are probably more than normal scratches, dents, rust, etc.
If the unit truly has less than 400 hours on it, it should be pretty fresh. The engine, HST, 3pt, steering, all controls etc. should all be tight and operate pretty much as new.
