I recently bought a l4610 with an la852 loader and a bradco 511 backhoe. I have has a few issues with it so far and I am hoping you could provide some advice.

1- the float position does not lock in. I disassembled it and cleaned it, but it is missing one of the 4 smaller ball bearings and I had to replace the spring with something from my parts bin. Ones anyone know the size of the 4 small ball bearings? I want to replace the one missing. It works better now, but I think will be a lot better with the 4th bearing in there

2- the loader control stick was adjusted such that it hit the bottom of the guide before it was at the full lift position. I adjusted the stick because the loader would only lift slowly. Now, the loader lifts slowly when you move the control stick part way, but when you move it fully to lift, the loader stops all together. What does this mean. I will rebuild the valve if I need to I just can't wrap my head around what is going on.

3- the backhoe kind of hesitates when you crowd the dipper stick back. It is almost like it is building up pressure before it can work. The other functions seem to work well. Any thoughts on this?

4- finally (I hope) I reconnected the 3pt hydraulics today (the backhoe is plumbed so that either the backhoe or 3pt gets hydraulic) who knows when the last time the 3pt was moved. When I moved the lever, it will go up, but not smoothly, kindy jerky upward movement like something is binding. However, it will not go down. There is no weight on the hitch, but I stood on the lift arms and jumped on them and the didnt budge. It is not the knob under the seat, I tried that in any number of positions. I am hoping it is just siezed up from not being used. Any tips here would be great.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

1- best place to find the right size detent ball is a shop that works on valves or related machinery. For example I keep a box of used bearings that had some the right size for a Cross BA valve that had lost a couple. Kubota only sells the whole detent assembly as a kit - over $100
2- my single-stick loader valves have a rocker lever and adjustable linkages so both spools work from the one stick. Your rocker may have worn pins, or maybe the detent issue is affecting the valve spool travel? Also, some valves have auto-leveling which further complicates stroke adjustment.
3- The dipper cylinder can get air in it after sitting a long time. Air is drawn past the seal and into the upper end of the cylinder. Exercising it a few full strokes usually cures it.
4- If the arms went up, it's not seized or stuck, but the lines may have some air in them, making it jerky. The needle valve under the seat should be wide open (ccw several turns) for unrestricted lowering. If the tractor has draft control, the draft lever should be down.

I think I will just take it apart again and mic one and find a bearing for it. I think it is metric sized.

I am not sure how the detent issue could affect teh spool travel. But I will look at it.

Thanks for the tip on the backhoe, I will give it a shot, maybe we just didnt cycle it fully and it still has air in it. That would make perfect sense with the problem, it has to compress the air before it can make pressure to work.

Yeah, the needle valve is open, I think that since it sat in one position for a long time it just got corroeded. I need to drop the backhoe, hook up the arms and see if I can get it moving

Thanks fro the response. THe loader control is my biggest concerna and it has me baffled :-(

If you send a PM with the diameter I'll look in my collection. If I have any I'll send more than one - they tend to go flying when putting the valve back together. Might cost you a first-class postage stamp. :)

Ok, thanks, it'll be a couple days before I can get to it.

Number 4 is strange to me. It shouldn't be one or the other. Both backhoe and 3 pt should be connected inline with each other. You can't necessarily use them both at the same time, but they should both work independently.

I am no expert on hydraulics. But the way the backhoe is hooked up is that it connects to a port on the fel valve. It has a quick connect on it and if you want to power the 3pt hitch you unplug it and plug the other line in and it feeds the 3pt hitch. I will post a pic later and a page from the bradco Manila that shows how it hooks up.

Many tractors use the PB hose from the FEL or hyd block to feed the BH directly.

You don't normally use the 3pt with a BH mounted, so it does make sense.

A lot of BH do not have PB, so putting the BH in the series path might damage the BH valve.

They usually run the BH OUT hose to tank/return hose.

The out line tees back in right at the hydraulic block under the right floorboard. How is power beyond and series different. Most of What you said there is Greek to me.

PB is the ability to feed and withstand max pump pressure to the next valve.

Open center hyd circuits is a series flow path, and PB port with adapters allows the flow to continue to the next valve.
