Kubota L5240
I'm looking for some advice on what could be causing this. The tractor idles fine, and the rpm's come up using the throttle on the column. I've got a hydrostatic transmission and when I step on the pedal in either direction, the rpm's drop off and the tractor stalls. I hear a loud clicking noise when it happens. If I only put very light pressure on the pedal, the tractor will creep along. If I push just a little harder I hear the click and it stalls. I hope I explained that clearly. Anybody have any idea what the problem is?

Sounds like the seat safety switch is not functioning. (I'm assuming you are on the seat). Try jumpering. the switch out and see if that solves the problem.

By all means eliminate the seat switch and other safety switches as previously suggested above. If the tractor immediately restarts the problem may be the fuel shut off solonoid ( click you hear )....Also possibly the click you hear may be a red herring and you may have a fuel delivery issue (eg plugged filter)....I've had issues where the filter allows just enough fuel to pass to allow the engine to idle but cannot supply the extra volume needed to increase the rpm..just guessing for your case.

Also check fuel "linkage" could be dislodging when requesting more fuel.
