Price Check L5460 Pricing and Input

Just for a comp, I sold my hard worked 2004 Cabbed L4630 GST, LA853 loader, 2 rear remotes, 3200 hrs, really worn out tires [heavily cracked but not leaking] for $14K.
That L5460 seems like a good price.

An IBC tote cage holds about .38 of a cord. A cage's worth of green split hardwood could weigh 2000lbs or more. Plus ~100lbs for the cage and ~300lbs for the pallet forks. My Branson's loader is rated at 2200lbs and it's near it's limits with one of these. If I don't slide the forks fully in and leave it just a couple inches out, the loader will not be able to curl the load. The Branson is heavy for a tractor it's size and I have the rear tires filled with Rimguard. With a 550 lb box blade on the back for ballast I can really feel the weight of the full tote out there.

You may want the big loader if you'll be doing a lot of this.

I've had turfs, r4s and r1's. For your application, I highly recommend r1s.

The OP's "Lifting IBC totes full of splits, a grapple load of timber, and load buckets full of granite gravel" are all heavy loader loads. I thought R1s were not as suited for heavy loads as R4s?

FYI...

R1's: F-TIRE 9.5-16 R1 Gdyr Dura Torque 6stud Load Capacity: 1,390 lbs

R4's: F-TIRE 10-16.5 R4 IN Steel Bias AA Load Capacity: 3,500 lbs

That looks great, the LA 1055 should be good for a ton. Kubota used to number their FELs by Kilo capacity.
And you can probably lift twice as much on the rear.
The tires don't look "worn out" too me - lot's of life left in them.
Don't worry about the hydraulics.
Worry more about posting a CL ad for a good tractor here and it getting snapped out from under you :)
now where did I put my checkbook ????

Thanks for clearing that up, the loader looks plenty capable to me. No worries, if you get it before I look at it I won稚 be upset!

Thank you to everyone providing input! This is great insight, with great discussion!

I guess I will have to get the smaller 275 IBC totes, no worries about more trips.

Headed to check the tractor out now, I will report back with what I find!

Thanks again for the help!

This is the limit of the medium loader. You could guesstimate how full the 275 gallon IBC tote is & figure out how many gallons are in there times the weight if water to get a better idea. Experience tells me about 1700-1900lbs plus probably 200-300lbs for the forks themselves. But that's rather academic as you can no way fit that much wood into an IBC tote. To much space between the logs to come close. I have some IBC totes with firewood in them & they are way lighter.

And he's got the big loader that lifts 1,000 odd KG instead of the 805kg mine lifts. 805kg = 1,774lbs. As others have noted Kubota loader models equal their lift capacity in KG.

Grands bigger than the L4060 have a bigger front axle & can take the bigger loader. On my L4060 with the medium LA805 loader the weak point is obviously the hydraulics. Probably not obviously the front axle as Kubota doesn't let you spec the big loader on the machines with smaller front axles. The machine is rock solid stable at max lift with loaded rear tires & minimal rear ballast. I only tested once with low 3pt ballast & always run proper ballast. 20180701_185900.jpg
