Where I was going with this is the tractor is too big to use around a house, especially over a septic tank. A tractor the size of a grand works best in a wide open area, that's why you use a riding mower too.

Total property is 20 acres, so it is used for other tasks as well. I maintain 2.5 acres of grass. Less than .5 is around the house, and it gets mowed every week with 42" rider. The other 2+ acres is mowed every other week with 72" rfm. With work, kids, activities, I don't have a lot of time, like to knock the work out quickly. Plus, tractor and I volunteer at softball field, baseball field, soccer field, school, family, neighbors, etc. Perfect size for me. I drive it around house, but I would never think about mowing around house, quaters are too close. I have driven over old septic tank and field, never noticed any problems, but we are on sewer now. The ground pressure, at least with my tires, cannot be that much. Philip.
