LA 523 or LA 723 FEL for L3130

Just bought a new L3130 but they have not delivered. It is coming with LA523 loader -- is the LA 723 a much better FEL?

Two things that make the LA 723 better. I like the dump/curl angles because of the 4 bar linkage and the lift height. After that it's pretty much going to be greater lift abilities but I would consider that secondary to the 2 items I mentioned.

I was looking at the L3130 at one time, and my one regret about not choosing it is the loss of loader capacity. It would be a shame to have that tractor and not pick the loader with the most capability.

I can't think of a single reason to get the lesser FEL. Maybe someone else can come up with one.

I selected the LA723 for my L3130 primarily o get the all around better specs. If you go with the LA513 and decide the get a backhoe in the future you will be limited on selection to the 3 point mount unit. Basically a lesser unit.

The price difference is not that much and I would also suggest that you get the quick attach adapter but can select the 66" bucket over the 72" if you want plus you can easily use pallet forks and other implements.

In addition to what has already been said, I would go with the 723 for another reason, that is if you want to add a grapple or something like that to the loader bucket later, you will have the extra capacity so it won't hurt so much to give some up when you add the extra weight to the bucket.

The need to have the 723 if you ever want to add the BH90 backhoe is the other reason I would go with it. The 4-point mount BH90 is head and shoulders better than my BL4690, which is the other option.

Now is the time to do it if you ever are going to... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Costs too much later...if you get the wrong one...

Just to expand on Vernon's (texbaylea) comments. You may already know this, but I didn't have this figured out for the longest time, so just in case, the quick attach adapter Vernon mentioned is the Skid Steer Quick Attach that Kubota makes for the LA723. Kubota may also make a pin-type quick attach for this loader which you definitely don't want when you have the skid steer version available.

My tractor dealer automatically put the 513 on my tractor when I said I didn't like the Woods that was on it.
I haven't had any problems with it where I wanted the 723 because I don't know any different.

After reading a lot of comments on this board I would get the 723 if I had to do it all over again..., but I've never missed not having the 723 with what I presently use the tractor for. Sort of like, "Am I going to be happy with this size tractor?". You will be until you hop on a bigger machine....

Thats very true. I had a much more powerful loader then the LA 723. I have read comments from folks who got the LA 853 and one of the tractors it fits because they wanted much more lift ability. I still maintain that I don't really miss the lift capability but rather the lift height and to a lesser extent, the extra amount of material the LA 1150 had but other then that, the LA 723 does a very capable job as I am sure your LA 513 does. Given the option between the two I would naturally pick the LA 723 if for no reason other then height and bucket angles. If you have not had those to compare against, you would not know what you were missing and find the LA 513 most acceptable.

Pro LA723:
1. Better dump/curl angles
2. Greater lift capacity
3. Higher dump height
4. Can take the 4-point mount BH90 (better than the 3pt BH)
5. Kubota skid steer QA is available option (although you would be able
to get an aftermarket version of this for the LA523 if you wanted)

Pro LA523:
1. $600 cheaper (List price difference)
