LA 703 Loader

You might try kubotabooks.com not sure if parts manual for that tractor is listed but they have several. You can also go to tractorsmart.com and fill out a request and they will email a link to the manuals you are requesting.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I've already tried a few internet searches and found very little on the L4400 with HST. Some stuff on the L4400 gear drive, but that's not what I have.

Dex3361 hello! I have a L4400HST with LA703 loader purchased in Nov. 08. That a great parts manual for the loader. Do you have any info. on the tractor itself showing parts etc?
The L4400HST is a great tractor...first one I've ever owned. I'm looking forward to many projects. So's my wife, can't keep her off it! Thanks for the help, Mike.

Almost forgot--What can you tell me about Top and Tilt for the L4400.

Here it is as an attachment. I agree with John Bud you have to be careful in what you change it can lead to bending or breaking something. If you have checked your pressure then it is to spec and that is the design strength but alot of people are finding that the pressure is low and bringing it to spec will help. The pressure is supposed to be about 2600PSI and to change you add shims to the pressure reg at about 37psi per .001" added.

The Top and Tilt replaces your top link and your adjustable lower lift arm on the bottom with hydraulic cylinders. These cylinders are operated by remote hydraulic ports (2 ports operates 1 dual action cylinder, 4 ports operate 2 dual action cylinders, etc) so a top and tilt would require 2 hydralic rear remotes(4 ports). With Top and Tilt you have the ability to adjust the cylindersfrom the seat.

I purchased L4400 with LA703 loader that the dealership sold me to unload rolls of hay from trailer and move to barn etc. They even sold me the hay forks to go on front end. This tractor won't even lift the rolls off the ground with front forks or back forks. Very dissapointed in this tractor.:

You need to have the relief pressure checked on the FEL. I checked mine and found it was low. Bumped the pressure up to spec and it was good to go. You should be able to lift about 1400# depending on how it is positioned.

The 703 loader is ok but about 1400-1500 lbs is it. The LA853 Is just about as strong as my TL1000 in my opinion, if not in the lift, the curl force is about the same.

P.S. You can cheat about 5% on the pressure setting without undue strain on pump or engine, but don't go overboard.

Thats why if I were to buy today I would seriously consider the MX5100 or the MX4700.

While I dont doubt you... I am wondering if there might be something wrong with your tractor... I have an L4400 GST with 703 loader... It routinely picks up 5x6 round bales of coastal grass.. I DID have to build a weight box for the rear end due to not loading the tires...

Do you know how much the bales weigh?

Thanks to all who told me about pressure. The dealership we bought from sent their "service manager" out who looked at the bales and said this tractor would never pick up the bales(1000#-1200#). After discussion on this site, we contacted another dealer and was told about the little knob under the seat. So I think we have solved problem on lifting bales. Interested in weight box you built for back end.
