And the saga continues.
Took it back to the niece, she used it once and ran it into a hole in her yard. Sent me a picture, the left spindle was loose from the deck hanging down until the pulley hit the deck.
Went down and picked it up, was pretty pissed, until I got it apart. Apparently, I didn't tighten the bolts holding the spindle to the deck, and they vibrated out. A couple of them were still laying on top of the deck, the others were gone. With the deck off the tractor and on the bench, I pulled the blade and pulley off the spindle. Looking it over, the threads on the aluminum housing were chewed up pretty badly, and the shaft was bent. Also, the hex in the pulley that locks it to the shaft was stripped out and would just spin freely.
Called the local JD dealer, again, and they had the parts, and would set them out for me.
Headed over to the dealer, got off on the exit and the State Police had the southbound exit blocked, no traffic allowed to go south. Rolled up to the SP car and asked what was going on. Seems the funeral procession for Jackie Walorski, our local Congresswoman was headed this way and was closed until the procession passed. Unfortunately, I didn't know of any other way to get to the dealer, so I went and had lunch. Long story short, the road didn't open up until 3:30PM, and I had left home at 12:30PM.
Got home a little after 4:00PM, put it all back together, made sure nothing else was bent, put it on the tractor, make a test run in the yard, and everything was good. Loaded it up and delivered it back to the niece's house, again.
