LA352 Loader and toothbar help

My toothbar came in today for my LA352 loader but I dont think its the right size. I have never installed one of these before, so I dont know for sure. The mounting bracket comes up 1/2 inch short on each side of the inside of the bucket. Are the brackets supposed to mount on the outside of the bucket? If not, do you think 1/2 inch is too much of a gap? Could someone please help. I would like to know what Im talking about before I take it back to the dealer. Thanks

The brackets mount on the inside. I think you'll find that they will pull themselves out fine when you tighten, but you might want to consider inserting a couple of washers in between the mounting tabs and the bucket- that's what I did.

Yep, the brackets go inside the bucket, use a couple of washers on each side for spacers and bolt it on. As was said above, when you tighten the bolts, it'll pull the brackets outward into place. You may occasionally want to remove it to do something for which you want the original straight edge on the bucket, and if you do, you'll be glad it doesn't fit real tight.

1/2" on both sides means it's an inch short overall if I'm understanding you. I would think you might want it to fit a little better than that, but you can certainly take up the slack with washers. I have a toothbar on my LA352 and a single washer between the toothbar and the bucket wall makes it fit perfect. I got mine from Corriher, a sponsor on this site.

my toothbar is 1/2 inch short on each side as well. I used it all last year, took it off for snow this winter and put it back on last week. No problem at all. Having a little wiggle room to get it on & off is not a bad thing. Plus the ears do flatten out to the sides of the bucket when you tighten up the bolts. Good luck

After I installed mine it wasnt off by that much. Maybe a 1/4 inch on each side.I really hated drilling 3/4 inch hole for the mounting bolts. But after I did it I was glad I did. What a great rock digger and root grabber. I also like the way it grades. It leaves some fine soil behind for raking by hand and grass seed. Thanks to all on this board who helped.

Forgot to mention, it might be a good idea to fill in your profile a bit, so the guys have a better idea of your acreage, tractor and such, will be very helpful in answering any future questions.

Isn't Berryville where FEMA has their "secret" bat cave.
Hope the world doesn't come to an end, or you'll have more politicians in the neighborhood than you could scoop with that toothbar (although it will help).
