Like several have said, it might be just the way that the spacing, springs, and detents of that particular loader hand control valve was designed or built. Both our M59 and our JD310 have heavy commercial loader control and I'd expect them to operate pretty much identically. If anything, I'd expect the John Deere to be better. That machine did cost over twice as much.
But that's not how it goes. In truth, the M59 loader control is as easy to use as a fingertip; it is delicate without being overly so.
The JD loader control valve looks and works the same as the M59, but the JD control seems to have the internal geometry set up just a little too close. What I mean is that the float detent position is just a little too easy to"get into" by accident for instance when I'm increasing the downforce - front wheels off the ground - and am using the heavy FEL bucket to do smoothing or backdragging. And then to make it worse, getting out of the detent requires just the slightest bit too much of a twist of the wrist - resulting in an over-reaction of the bucket. The result is that doing smoothing or backdragging with the JD310 bucket can be a nervous thing that results in just the type of bounce that you are describing, while the same job with the M59 is like icing a cake.
Near as I can tell, there's nothing actually right or wrong with either hand control valve, but one's just right and the other is only acceptable.
I've no idea what the cure for this is, but if anyone has any idea I'd sure like to hear them.
