Just wondering? Does the LA463 QA backplate match up with other brand attacthments or do I have to buy a special backplate for each attachment?
I don't know if I am making sense with my question.

I just installed the QA adapter on my LA463 loader arms. It is a standard skid steer type adapter, and will work with standard skid steer plates on the various implements. I haven't seen an LA463 with QA from the factory, but I assume they use the same adapter that I bought from Kubota to retrofit my LA463.

I'd say it's probably the skid steer QA that you got.

Guys - I am thinking about converting my LA463 to QA and am curious how much to budget for this.. How much did you pay for the LA463 QA adapter? How much do the receiver plates cost that are welded to the bucket? I assume these are kubota specific parts?

For aftermarket, I found this link but am not sure if anyone had done this with their LA463??

The old LA463 lacks some stops that are needed to keep the coupler from hitting the loader. The LA463-1 has those added. Its an easy fix, but its somhing your dealer should do.

Neil: Thanks for the post. This is the first I've heard about a 463-1. Any way for me to tell which one it is?

What is the part that needs to be added to make it compatible with the QA?

I don't think that I will be able to do a QA conversion until some time in the future but I have no relationship left with my dealer so I will probably get a local welding shop to help me out with converting the bucket (or convince my wife that I need to get a welder and learn some welding skills!).

bigballer - I found this one to be interesting. Probably the only aftermarket one I have seen that is not as heavily built as others like Horst. Those come in at 140 lb or so and given the loader's capacity, might as well not put any more steel into the adapter than necessary. The OEM one looks nicely built also - but expensive here in Canada unless I pick it up on the fall during a road trip to the USA.

This is interesting. I was fairly thorough in a side by side comparision of an LA463 to an LA463-1 and every thing seemed to match, aside from the QA. My dealer did a quick cross reference of the loaders and QA part #'s, including the L2230A and felt they matched up but we both wondered why Kubota would not endorse a retrofit for my LA463.

Messicks, any more info. about the stops? A photo?

Anyway, I did the retro fit with the L2230A and every thing seems to have worked out perfect. Bigballer, I picked up mine for $380 even and it was well worth it.
