I bought a used 2002 kubota L3010 HST with 200 hours. The only problem is the loader valve lever has to be in the exact spot while pushing down or the bucket will not lift. All other functions on the valve work perfect and there is no play in the valve or lever. You have to push the lever down to the perfect spot and the bucket will go up ,if you push down farther the bucket stops and holds the height it's at and you can still push the valve down more till the lever stops. the bucket still stays in that position. This problem is the same loaded or empty. I had an old kubota and you could slam the valve in any position and it worked fine. This problem makes loading a truck a pain. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd think that an o-ring might be pinched to give you that problem but otherwise I haven't heard of it.

Check and see if the screw in the end of the spool has backed off it will make the valve do strange things

bobgson,

Mine did the same thing. Well, I sort of "forced the issue". Was bush hogging and turned around to watch the mower chew up a downed tree limb, when I turned back, the FEL had picked up a downed Hickory tree and bowed it about 8'. The instant I started backwards, the tree jumped the bucket and whapped the hood and slapped the steering wheel hard. No, I mean hard. The wheel tilted down and hit my thigh hard enough to give a bruise from hip to knee! I am pretty sure that it hitting the wheel saved me a half dozen busted ribs. Not a good thing to get!

But I digress, the solution was to take the valve cover box off and you will see adjustment screws. Ajdust the one that impacts the spool on the left (lift). The PIA is that you have to put it all back together to see how it's working, then take it apart and adjust some more and repeat. Took a few go rounds.

Good luck,
jb

You probably need a Kit Detent, try to look here: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/88630-fel-goes-up-itself.html

I replaced myself the parts in the kit (75540-61420), and now my LA480 goes up and down, in full force. But I still have a problem with the bucket. It does not roll back, it only went to dump position, and I cannot make it to roll back. I believe the valve that sits next to the main control valve, is actually the valve controlling the bucket. It might have/need a kit too (probably the o-rings are the culprit). any ideas?

LA480 and LA482 are quite similar, if you need same pages from the workshop manual, for DIY repair, let me know.

I have an la482 fel and am having trouble with the lever sticking. Was told this was because of the floating bucket which I don't understand. I would like to do away with this option as I can really see no use for it in my operations of the loader. I realize this is an old post and probably will get no reply, but would be interested in all feedback and possibly an exploded view of the control valve.
Just found my password and am able to post now. Had not been able for about 2 years. Thanks:confused2:

Try lowering the 3PH a little.
I came across a Kabota last week that if the 3PH was all the way up the
loader would not work right.
I didn't have time to mess with it but could hear the hyd bypassing.

Where is the lever sticking? If the float position, there is a detent, that keeps the bucket in float. If you don't want float, then don't select it, which is all the way fwd. You might try removing the cap off the spool with float, and check and clean the detent area. There are some balls and springs in there. Check for rust and other debris.

As far as passwords, you can also get another anytime.

It was the float position. I finally got it free and am going to adjust the length of the linkage so that it won't go there again. There is a flip down bracket that I guess is supposed to keep it out of float, but the way it is adjusted now, when it is flipped down, the bucket won't go down. This is all new to me and I have learned more from this forum today than I have in a while. I really have no need for the float system, but I think I should still take the valve apart and clean it. I have copd and the medicine I take sometimes makes me very shaky. Will have to pick a good day for this I guess. Thanks to everybody for taking the time to answer. I think this is a great site and will visit it more regularly in the future. Thanks again everybody!!!!!!!!
