Rating for lifting is around 1600lbs... but what is the practical limit for moving and lowering?...

We have two pallets of stone being delivered on a flatbed with tilt. Each is around 2000lbs.

At the flatbed height, with a 770lb land plane on the 3pt for counter-balance plus 300lbs of wheel weights on the rears...
should the loader be able to maintain the load long enough to lower and move it about 15ft?

I've looked at past threads that claim I might be able to break away at a couple of inches off the floor, but what about at a 4ft height? Tilting the trailer would give me clearance to pull the pallet off, but I'm curious about what happens when the full weight is loading the forks.

The breakout force of the bucket is more than you can lift usually - which this should allow you to tilt the pallet back and get 2" of clearance then drive the truck away and lower the load. Your loader is 765x2.2lbs or 1700 Lbs but I know I have lifted heavier loads with my FEL by curling. I go slow and low when moving heavy loads.

The better option would be to unload some of the stone at towards the front of the forks 200 lbs or so then unload.

If you look at this spec sheet ... Look at "U" & "W" ... The "X" number seems to be at the front edge of the bucket, and might be a better number to use ... ? (A pallet will stick out even farther!)

At 59" it should lift over 2100 Lbs, but that is at the pins ... Since you are going to be 10" less height, but weight is much farther from the "pins" on the end of you loader arms you probably could lift it with the curl function like Carl said, it won't hurt you loader, but I'd lower it to less than 6" as soon as possible ...

I do not think though that you have nearly enough weight on the back ... I like as much weight on the 3pt, as I'm lifting on the loader ... The wheel weights "might" help keep the tires on the ground, but will not relieve the front axle from being over loaded ... !

Look at this chart ... It's using liquid ballast, but it's the same principle as wheel weights

I grabbed that screenshot from this video ...

If you can load another 750 -1000 Lbs on top of the land plane, I'd recommend it.

Just make sure you have you have a heavy implement or some kind of ballast on the back of the tractor! When I unload pallets of wood pellets, each right at 2000 lb, I can lift the back of my M7060 cab model in the air if I don't have my big rotary mower on the 3 point hitch. Even then I have to have it in 4wd because there is so little weight on the back the rear tires will just spin if backing up with all that weight way out in front of the front tires.

Since you have to lift it with forks I’d say you’re not even close. Your counterweight just keeps you from tipping forward not increase your lift. It’s not enough counterweight though either. Your counterweight should roughly equal what you will lift. If they are blocks you can just take a few off until you can lift it.

I highly doubt it will lift it and honestly, shouldn't be lifting all that weight with this size of tractor, even if it could. It's just a tractor.

Also, that doesn't seem like enough counter weight and if anyone wants to get technical about counter weight, here is the formula to calculate it straight from the Stoll manual:

That's the first time I've ever seen a manual with a way to actually figure out the weight needed!

Well, its now a moot point. Pallets weighed in well over 2400lbs.

Driver had to dump off the back, which broke the chicken wire holding the stack together... but the rock will be fine.

Guess it is! You could have used the tractor behind the pallets to "ease" them off the bed - would have stayed mostly intact that way.

But look at the bright side, now you can pull from anywhere in the stack!
