Labor Day tradition... taters and middle busters

Fired up the Branson today, slapped the middle buster on , and went on a mining expedition .....for taters that is. A Labor day tradition around my place. I was fearful of what I would find. The season started out great, plenty of water ....but then the dreaded Colorado potato bug. I finally gave up on them....and they stripped my plants clean to the stems. Would it be feast or famine...or somewhere between ?

Well , it wasn't exactly feast, and wasn't famine.... I'd say somewhere in between. And the tool of destruction? My KK middle buster of course. It was yellow when I bought it...but I soon remedied that with a can of paint.

your close enough, I am coming over for some FRESH REAL potatoes..........looks great.

Only thing different from back home in Louisville, KY where we had a couple acres of them bad daddies, WE HAD to use a manual labor pitch fork to get them, then had to pick them up and take them to the basement. Guess I know why now a middle buster is sometimes called a potato plow.

We used to use a two handled single bottom plow to roll out the tatters. Then bushel sized burlap bags to pack them into.
