ladder for truck for a shorty?

I have wheel to wheel nerf bars that have a step for tool box access. Even with that though she would still struggle to get things out of the toolbox. One of the ladders that bolts to the tailgate should work.

I would put wheel to wheel running boards on it and/or remove the useless lift kit

I carry a Cosco aluminum ladder, bought at HD. Now I'd get a Gorilla.

I also use one of those gorilla ladders myself to get in and out of truck bed. These new trucks are to high for this senior citizen.

A couple of weeks ago I saw a short man having difficulty loading heavy bags into the back of his late model lifted pickup. The tailgate was about the level of the center of his chest.

About a month before, I parked my stock Toyota Tacoma next to about a 1970 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4, stock tires and height. It was about an inch lower than the Tacoma.

Do a Google search on Tailgate Step. I see Cabelas has a folding step that mounts inside on the tailgate and folds down for use. I had one similar on my Super Duty when I had it. Now I just use the tire as my step.

she has tow service on vehicle. so spare not really needed.

I've meaning to build a slide out ladder into the top lid of my aluminum tool box on my truck. When I need the ladder I'll just open a small side door right on the lid and slide the ladder out. That would work well I think. Come to think of it, the ladder can be a part of a tonneau as well.
