I just picked up this Land Pride RO2566 today and wanted to get some opinions on it. Originally I was looking for a BB2572 for my Kubota L35 but I found this one new for only $600 so I thought why not. The ripper shanks were still banded to the crate . I wanted to get some opinions to see if I would be better off with a 6' standard box blade or if this would work just as good.

I don't know how wide your tractor is, but if this 66" wide roll-over covers the tracks I would for sure use it vs a regular box blade. I don't think you will find anyone that has one of these roll-overs that would trade it for a regular box blade. I don't know if I would even trade it for an industrial hydraulic box blade.

I say use it if it covers your tracks, if not sell it and get more than $600. I believe that Land Pride does not make these any more, and Gannon stopped making theirs a few years ago. :( There are still a couple of manufacturers of them, but they keep disappearing.

The L35 has a 66" front bucket and is 66" wide so 66" seems to exactly cover the tracks. I did notice that land pride doesn't make them, are they just too pricey?

So you're that consarned @#$%&*-+******£¢€¥¥^°°± expletives unprintable that swooped in and scammed me out of a sweet deal in the last second of the auction- and you don't even know what you got????:shocked:

That's just CRIMINAL!!!

For the record- it's double the weight and build quality of the regular box blades it's size that you see for about the same price as an 7' regular box blade, and an original retail of about 2200 clams!!!:thumbsup:

I know at this point that anything I say is just sour grapes and spite, but man this sucks!:mur:

Well, anyway, it was so close to mine that you better treat her right and post lots of pictures and progress reports, or sowelp me god, I'll find ya and.....

Karma T, remember karma..... Deep Breath!?!?

Congratulations on your new toy- and where did you say you were from? So I can come and rescue her when you tire of all that heavy steel weighing down your rig?

I have a 72" Dirt Dog rollover box blade that I recently purchased and so far it has proven to be more effective than the standard box blade. Notably, it is heavier (mine is 780 lbs.) and that is a big deal. The rollover allows you to rip with the shanks and not grade at the same time which is advantageous for certain applications. The downside is that you cannot scarify and scrape at the same time which I have not found disadvantageous to-date. It also allows you to backfill with the box blade which is a huge advantage if you don't have an FEL. I do have an FEL and still use the box blade for precise backfilling as you can see what you are doing more effectively. The Landpride/Gannon is a gem of a box blade and you got a super deal for your money!

Sorry about that! I was eyeing that bb2572 on eBay but since this one was literally 15 minutes away it was a no brainer. I'm from lake Orion and this box blade was at the local weingartz.

To make you feel better I preprogrammed my bid almost a week ago. If you really want it I'm open to trades!

Hi Pat,

I would really love to have it, but I don't really have anything to offer in trade- I just bought my B2320 last year, and I'm trying to get the tools I need to do the work that needs to get done.

If I hadn't had to pay the additional $100 for shipping, I would been able to go a bunch higher too, although I was willing anyway and ebay locked me out.

Like I said, it's just sour grapes, because of what a good deal it was, and not incidentally, having to start a new search for a nice heavy piece of BB to use on my gravel drive [at a reasonable price].

It may actually be a better fit for your bigger rig anyway, but I really was drooling and hoping to stay under the radar of all the sharks...[if i'm allowed to mix metaphors.]

Really though, if you find that you hate it, and would like to work some kind of deal in the future, PM me.

[I say that knowing from my reading on TBN that the odds against are in line with buying a winning powerball ticket for last weeks drawing today....]

Did you find the manual on the LP web site?

Don't you find it bizarre that a bunch of similar manuals are for sale on ebay, when most of them can be downloaded for free from the mfg website?

Well, back to work.

Take good care of her,
Thomas

As PT Barnum said "There is a sucker born every minute" (especially the true with the auctions which are for a CD containing poorly scanned PDF copies of the manual).

BTW, I love your signature- Too true dat too!

Pat,

Back to trading, I had to ask, just for [ungentlemanly] comedic effect:

Do you have any need for a spare left testicular appendage?

*(See cliched expression of coveting unattainable item)*:drink:

Use the RO2566 in great health,
