Rotary Cutter Land Pride vs Woods

/ Land Pride vs Woods #11
I just purchased a MF1643 and now I'm looking for a rotary cutter. Any thoughts on which is better? A Land Pride or Woods? I'm looking at a single spindle 60" cutter. Any thoughts on sheer pins vs slip clutches? Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Congrats on the 1643, I love mine. Why not a 6ft? The width of a 6ft is perfect for the tractor. I have cut some brush that I though I might not get through, but I cut it with out a problem. The tractor pulls it great.

X2 That size tractor will dwarf a 5' bush hog. Dad bought a new Kubota L4740 a couple of years ago and I tried to get him to upgrade his bush hog from 5' to 6' at the same time. He didn't do it, and once he put his 5' bush hog on the tractor he realized he'd made a mistake. Within a month he had traded for a new 6' Woods Heritage series bush hog that's a perfect fit for his tractor. A 6' on your 1643 will pretty well cover the wheel tracks, a 5' won't.

Very simple reason...my dealer has a lightly used Woods BB60 for $650. I would like a 6' cutter, but I can't pass up on a deal like that...unless anyone wants to make a donation!!!!

The best rotary cutters are the Bush Hog brand. But out of your 2 choices, I'd go with the Land Pride for sure.

Never cared for woods implements because of their lousy paint jobs. They might as well have painted them with a mop and a can of hardware store brand paint.

I can agree with Builder...My PRD Woods 72" mower does not have as good a paint job as my old Land Pride light duty 60" mower had...It is heavier built though...
