Land Pride, Woods, Befco Grading Scraper

I bought the Woods 84" rear grader a few months ago and am very pleased with it. I've started a new 300 yard driveway, between workshops and our horse barn, which was just a grass path. This spring, during the hard rains, about 100 yards of it washed out and became a river pointed at the overhead door on our big workshop. I used the Woods grader and my new Landpride 96" rear blade to level out the road bed. Brought in two truck loads of crushed concrete for a base for the driveway and will get it packed down and then top with processed Post Oak rock. The Woods grader worked very we'll spread and level the crushed concrete. Whatever you end up buying, I suggest you get one with scarifiers. You will spend a bit more but, they really help. Sent from my iPad using TractorByNet

BYW, I installed a set of Brian's Fit-Rite Hydraulics top and side link cylinders, when I bought my LS XR4046 HC last year, which give you increased functionality with the grader blade.

You can do I good job with a Land Plane Grading Scraper. From my experience I agree with Steve that adjustable blade height is does not seem all that important. My LPGS is 6 years old and sees a lot of use. My blades are straight across and fixed at 3/4" below the runners. Seems that there is a range of blade heights and angles that give good results. Here is the first pass on a packed pot holed road.

Here is how it cuts and fills.

FYI - this was a slow speed parade, and its the only time they have done it. This isnt something that happens while its in use, or at any high speeds. Its no different than putting a carry-all on the back for them to ride on.

They sit on the back beam, with their feet on the blade, using a scarifier as a handle. Its not something I would do if I wasnt comfortable with it, for sure...

I agree. I can't live in a bubble and don't expect my kids or grandkids to. :)

After you come literally within inches of running someone over because they fell off, you will change your mind. Been there done that, still gives me the willies to think about it and that was over 40 years ago. I was VERY VERY lucky to just happen to look backwards at the same exact time that my brother fell off and was able to stop in time so that nothing happened. The tractor was barely moving and why we ended up with no injuries, a split second longer though and who knows.

Do as you will, just need to keep the possible consequences in mind. ;)

What is that QH you have on there?

It's a Delta Hook QA System. A bit expensive but, works well with older equipment built to non-modern quick hitch standards.

Huh, my eyes must be messing with me. Didn't look like a Delta Hook.
I'd sure like one of those, but it was too rich for my blood. Sad face....
Hope it works well for you.
