Hambone is that an Aljon compactor or a Vepper. we ran a small 80 acre wood waste landfill for a house trailer plant till it closed folks dont know how much work is involved. We just had a D5B Caterpillar dozer and a JD762 scraper and a 4000 Ford tractor. The carpet, card board, plastic and wod was togh to spread and walk in. Dad taught me how to make it boil and break over. Folks cant see how we can estimate how much a load will compact and hold a grade.

That is an Aljon 600. They have not been out for two long. We were running Aljon 81KR for the past 5 years(??) it is getting tired. About 11,000 hours, engine just about ready. although oil samples still showing good.
Big jump from the 81KR (81000#) to the new one.
The new one is a little easier to work on.

Hambone Is the rear axle occilated in the rear like a rubber tired loader. And do they spred dirt as well as a dozer?
Theres a company called Tana that makes and articulated trash compactor that doesnt have an axle occilation and the drums run all the way across the axles. It compacts more in one pass than 4wheel compactos. Ands the feet are a bit different from the Caron wheels. It claims it help control rodents becauce is has such a close packing ability. Ill attach a few pics of the machines.
I had a friend that bough some property that had been a dump site for andother mobile home plant and they didnt cover it well or compact. A fellow came in with a big Cat skidder with Carron wheels and a Carron blade and walked it in we compacted it good and I would run a scraper and a D5 covering it.

oops sorry I meant it wouldn oscillate at the rear axle like a loader or 815 Cat compactor. Its articlating and nonocillating. to provide more crushing power.

Both axles on the Aljon's occilate or pivot in the center. I don't think we have ever pushed dirt with it, but it sure moves trash!
Have not heard of Tana, I will do some checking on that.
We had a couple Cat compactors, 826C, no comparison there. The Cats were really bad about wrapping stuff up on the inside of the wheels. Usually would take out the seal. Did not weigh as much either.
The wheels on the new one are made by Aljon, the old ones, and even the Cat, had the Caron wheels.

How does the All jon keep from tipping if both axls ocilate. to accomodate bumps? The Cat dirt compactor i ran was an 815 Cat wheel dozer with sheepf foot pads and it had loader artticulation/steering but the rear axle had the ocillaton.
One thing about the Cat compactor is you have to order a super seal protction kit from them. I hate to ask so many questions but the Landfill I used to operate and manage my get smoe new customers and they wanted me to find a new compactor. The standard D5B works great but I may get a newer scraper and a compactor. I looked at a Kaelable Loader/compactor from Germany the other day there is a dealers demo in alabama with one Its a 4 yards loader with seal protectors and Caron wheels. Id really rather get a newer scraper like a 613 Cat
