landpride back blade

Im in need of a back blade and have been looking at the land pride rb 2684. Any one have one, any comments on them? Are they worth the price? What would be a fair price for a new one? Thanks, ray

I have a 7ft LandPride back blade. I am not sure what model though. It is very rugged. I bought it used for $300.

I would probably step up to at least an RB3784. That way you can get up to 26" of offset fairly easy and more of it vs having to actually slide the moldboard sideways up to only 12".

I also would recommend the RB3784. It has provision for hydraulic angle which I consider a must. I just got the RB3796 and it is a very sturdy blade. Prices I see are $950 for the RB2684 and $1380 for the RB3784. I paid $1425 for the RB3796.

Tom, the RB2684 has an option for hydraulic angling just as the RB3784. But the offset is only 12" on the 26 series and you have to actually slide the blade side ways. This is not anything that anyone would want to do on a regular basis. Not me anyway. :no:

I have the Land Pride RB3596. Its used almost 100% for clearing snow on my mile long gravel driveway. I can attest that Land Pride makes one tough blade. When angled & offset - it cuts a path just a little wider than the width of the rear tires. However, because of the offset the "inboard" rear tire is still in unplowed snow. That's OK because my main goal is to move that snow to the extreme outer edge of the driveway on the first pass.

Hydraulic angling is an option that I've never considered necessary for my rear blade.
