OK. I stand corrected. It means that rather than $4 per pound - I paid $4.78 per pound for the Rhino.

I do have a 400# concrete "cube" that can be added to any of my land engagement implements. So far - I've only used it on my Land Pride disk harrow - DH1048. It helps but still won't do the job that the LPGS w/scarifiers does.

I wouldn't be surprised if that blade is now closer to $7 per pound these days! Regardless of what the specs say on paper, it is a top of the line blade that works wonders and will last for decades! I enjoy seeing your photos of it in use.

When I was checking to upgrade on a rear blade - seriously considered the Land Pride eight foot blade. The only big blade the dealer had was 100% hydraulically controlled. My M6040 has only one rear hydraulic control. So .... we all know what that would have meant - $$$$. Not only for the blade hydraulics but the added hydraulic controls on the tractor.

You know - I've had that Rhino rear blade for seven years now. I've only used it two of the seven winters to clear snow on my driveway. And only one of those two years was REALLY necessary.

Any more around here - might get as much as six inches of snow accumulated. Wait a couple days and it will be melted down to two or three inches. Now that I have the Taco wagon - don't even consider plowing unless I have eight inches. It's just a whole lot easier to bust thru the snow and create a path and let it melt.

Yes - I have seen a very dramatic change in winter weather around these parts.

I really like how you did that gauge wheel, do you have any other photos showing it from the side? It must be custom since they don't offer it for this model. I have the RBT4096 with skid shoes, and I LOVE that blade, but have thought of adding a guage wheel like you did to make it more effective.

Really nice looking job there! The hydraulics on these blades make them even more useful/appreciated. Thanks for the write up.

Do you have the 8' or 9' version? The 8' is "only" 836 pounds. Obviously, still a very heavy duty blade, but not quite 1,100 pounds, unless you've added weight. I think it is extremely similar in specs to the Landpride 40 series. The fully hydraulic versions are naturally a bit heavier however. Regardless, it is a very nice/effective setup.
Specs are here: Heavy Duty Rear Blades | Rhino Ag
I bought the blade used with the tailwheel already on it. I believe it is a for a 35 series that would have bolted on but is welded to mine since the 40 series doesn't have the mounting points.

I plan on redoing it as it could use some improvement. I do have a new laminated wheel and fork for it. Also have a manual diverter to operate the tail wheel and a cylinder waiting to be mounted for the side shift.

I found I use the side shift more then expected and it's a pain to move it manually due to the weight. Plus I didn't put 4 remotes on the tractor for nothing!
