Landpride Question

Greetings! Im a proud new owner of a Landpride FDR16-72 rear discharge finish mower. After months of research on TBN, this was my final decision. I picked it up today. I have a couple of questions though. First, I didnt pay any attention until I got home, but this unit did not come with a PTO shaft. Should it have? If so I will call the dealer and go get it... Or do I just use the shaft off of my rotary cutter? Second question... I have heard people talking about shortening pto shafts or something. Will I have to do this to use it behind a TC29D? Thanks!

I would expect the PTO shaft to be included. The dealer probably forgot to attach it. I think a PTO shaft costs about $ 40.00 I have a Landpride 2560 RDM and it came with a shaft. Swaping the shaft between your cutters is an unnecessary hassle. Contact your dealer for the PTO shaft.

Forgot to answer your second question. You probably won't need to shorten the shaft. My shaft is a good length for my kubota B2410. Of the various implements I own I have not yet had to shorten a PTO shaft. This may be so because they are sized appropriately to my HP tractor.

Brad, I never heard of one coming without a PTO driveshaft, though I guess it's possible someone might sell one that way. And it's my guess that you will not have to shorten the driveshaft for a TC29D. When you hook up the mower, raise it all the way with the 3-point before you hook up the driveshaft, then see if you can't push the two sections of the driveshaft together far enough to hook it up without shortening it. I'll bet you can.

Thanks for the replies guys! I am going to call the dealer Monday and ask if I can go pick up the pto shaft. My assumption was that all pto-driven implements would come with them too.
