I have been thinking and I know that is dangerous.

I have land that was logged about 7-10 years ago and they left lots of branches and some small logs up to 12". We recently got a box blade so that we could level the yard area aroound the house, then as an after thought I decided I could use the rippers with the top-link tightened up to free the logs and branches from the dirt. So far it has worked good in my experiment area, I know lots of the big stuff will haveto be moved by hand or the bucket.

Finally to the rake length, do I go with a six footer and pull it straight behind me, 90 degrees to the tractor? Or my thought is to by the eight footer and place it at an angle, its overall width would still be smaller than my tractor. Then a lot of the small pieces of wood could be shoved/pulled to one side. Kind of like when you used a push lawn mower back in the old days.

thanks steve

I wonder if a tooth bar on your bucket might be better. Tip the bucket so the teeth are strait up and down and use it like a rake. When I use my rake fore cleaning up around my brush pile it seem half the branches get stuck between the tines then you have to stop and clean out the rake.
