I was using my rake to smooth out my gravel road after a winters use, and one
of the tines broke. No problem just buy another tooth and replace it. The price
of a replacement tine for this rig is close to 20 bucks. I know the price of steel
has gone up some but, really? It is nothing special, just an older land pride
LR1572. The part is available but the cost is really up there. Am I missing
something? There is 36 tines on this 6' rake, that would put the value at
over 700 bucks. Looks like I have a small goldmine sitting here. Any ideas on
where to find tines for a more reasonable price?
Thanks

Thanks, I looked at Agri Supply and they did not offer tines that directly fit my rake. They could be modified to fit I suppose. The price is reasonable enough for the product! Thanks for the input.

Actually steel is at it's lowest price in about 5 years, china stopped buying all the A36 and other structural steel.
Just ordered 5k of steel for a repeat job, (we Get it about every quarter) and this was lowest price yet

Also 6061 alum is at it's lowest price in years

Worst thing is metal products made in China and their piss poor heat treating processes

Oops...sorry for hyjack:D
