johnsdad, I have a Howse 5' brush hog and a Howse 5' box blade. Yes, they're cheap implements of lesser quality than that of some of the other manufacturers, but depending on how rough a service you're going to give them, they may be quite adequate for your use. I have no complaints so far with the two Howse implements I've had for a year and a half.

Has anyone heard of Cimarron implements? I was at my Kubota dealer's place last week and he stocks a lot of Bush Hog implements (of which I am very fond), and I looked at a Bush Hog landscape rake there, but he told me that he could get me a Cimarron (warehouse right down the road) for about half the price of the Bush Hog. He said he couldn't tell the difference in looking at them, but the Cimarron was about 20 pounds lighter and made in Mexico.

You might want to check out the King Kutter landscape rake too. They seem to be easily available locally (around here anyway) & priced really reasonable too so you could save that shipping cost. I am not too sure if a wheel kit is available for it though. Our local Fleet Farm stores tend to sell a lot of the same type of items in Northerns catalogs & usually a little cheaper (& that's before adding on freight). Just a thought. As far as being too big - I don't think there would be any concern with a class II Boomer pulling it around. Manuverability & fitting in tight spaces would be the only concern & at 7' your still not really all that wide so... Personally I like to see what I am buying before making a purchase - so I can get some idea of how long it will take me to break it... I mean before it will wear out. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Well I just received the Howse 7' landscape rake from Northern Tractor today 4/17/01 Delivered for $496.00 and it looks just as good as the one i looked the NH dealer was trying to sell me for $700.00, The frame on the Howse is very solid and the tines look strong but i won't know untill i use it in a month or so, also the wheel kit is very heavy duty, Bird i'll let you know how it worked when i use it . Thanks Johnsdad
