Neat pictures Junkman. I've seen a lot of strange things with fish, but I've never seen anything like that before.

But it doesn't really surprise me. Flathead catfish (also known as yellow cat, willow cat, Oppaloosas, and Appaloosas among others) are extremely aggressive and eat just about anything. That's why they aren't very desirable for smaller lakes and ponds. They are way cool, though, and one of my favorite fish.

Looks to be around a 40-50lbs shovel head, mud cat, flat head, what ever you prefer to call it. We usually call that specific species Shovel head or flathead here in Ohio. First time I've ever seen one try and swallow a B-ball!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I have seen pictures of a 6 pound Large mouth floating on the top of the water dead with a 3lbs LM in it's mouth. That was weird but this cat trying to swallow a basketball is the best I've seen so far. Thanks Junkman for sharing the story and pics. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
