Very nice!!Rain and 50's predicted for the next week. That'll end ice fishing here real quick. My friend and I were walking off the lake Thursday night after another great afternoon of fishing, I looked back and saw the sunset and we stopped and watched it for a while. The redwing blackbirds had stopped calling, thousands of sand hill cranes were coming in for the night, the owls started hooting.... doesn't get much better than that. It's been a good last few weeks for fishing. Time to look back on things and count your blessings, put the gear away for next winter, and plan for spring.

I guess I don't understand?:confused3:
Last year last ice was about 3rd week of February. So I got an extra two weeks this year. Would have been out more but my F.I.L. was in hospital for 2 weeks back in Feb with pneumonia as soon as the ice got hard, so I spent mornings before work making sure he was eating breakfast and evenings visiting. Used to do a lot of ice fishing with him, but his time is winding down slowly. He hasn't been fishing for about 8-9 years. So I always have a good thought about him when I go.

Beautiful picture, thanks for sharing. Is that northern Indiana or Alaska? Only way to "ice" fish now in southern Indiana is to be Jesus (walk on water).![]()
