I forgot to add that Dick could fill his beastly L5450 rears with lead, put a second set or duals on the rear, fill those with lead and still have power out the gazoo to drive them. I have found in my short days of ownership that while the L3830 is plenty powerful, it is not like my L48. Low will be used on the L3830 while really unnecessary on the L48. Realize that medium on the L3830 is 0 to 7 mph while the L48 was 0 to 4 mph. Shane, you should really like the L3830, I actually enjoy it more then the L48. It's very mobile, very quiet and as I have said ad nauseum, verrrry smoooth. I think I'm going to name it, how about Maximum Utmost. Rat... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks RaT, I did'nt get the tires filled.Dealer said it may delay tractor few days. So I will do what you did and take a wait and see aproach. My tractor should be here in about 1 hr. and I can't wait. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif It is a little over a 2 hr. drive they left one hr.ago. I hope I like it, sure was a tough decision.

My Wife is a sore loser so I would have to let her win any how. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Well when I called back about filling he said it may delay him. I said just bring my tractor. Still waiting. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

RaT,

I just got my L3430 HSTC last week and it runs just like yours. 0-4 for Low, 0-7 for Medium and up to 15 for High as long as you are going on a road and slightly downhill. I agree, it is a great machine. It has been raining for the last 3 days and I can't wait to get back on it to do some mowing and use my loader to load a dumpster with some moldy garbage the previous owner left behind. I put wheel weights on my rear tires since the manual says you shouldn't fill the rear tires on a cab model. The tractor appears to be very stable so far. I didn't get a chance to ask my dealer about why you can't fill the rear tires on a cab model. Any ideas about this?

Yes, I've filled the tires on all the tractors I have had going back to a Ford 8N and never regretted it. If you can try and get RimGuard in them. I find every time I get on a machine with out loading that is soing much more than mowing it feels unstable if not loaded.

"and up to 15 for High as long as you are going on a road and slightly downhill"

Actually, I have found I can go up a slight incline in H on the L3830. My L48 suprisingly would bog down considerably going up the same grade. The L48 weighed about 6700 lbs with loaded tires while the L3830 weighs about 4000lbs with unfilled tires and the loader/bucket on.
