Hi everyone! I have been very busy and away from this site for awhile. Sorry
Just wanted to say that I just made my last payment on my 1528 and it is now MINE! I am also researching a skidder winch for it so if anyone has any advise I would appreciate it.
Happy tractoring!
You are lucky, soon it will be my FIRST payment on my 1643, I ordered it last week(replacing my old Oliver).
Concerning your winch, look at a FARMI winch .I have a 351P (model) It is strongly built, will pull 7700 pounds.(enough powerfull for a 28 hp tractor) P is for the back plate, like a bulldozer plate that digs into the ground when winching. Many other brands exists, Wallenstein, Tajfun, Norse etc...mostly are all alike, Farmi is rename for his clutch, and in many treads, many Farmi are used for 20 years or so without problems .Look for a dealer near you. Logging winch is a safe way to pull logs and if you use a CONE that is fixed to your log, the cone help the log from getting stuck on a stump or stone ,because if the log stuck a stump it will lift the front of your tractor if you are too slow to release the rope that commands the action of the winch.Good luck. To see some treads, go to the ^^search?^ and go with ^^logging winch^^. Have a nice day.Roger
