I am designing a engine mount and wonder if the pump needs to be level or below the hydraulic tank suction? Most i have seen are this way and have read somewhere that they are gravity fed? I was hoping to mount the engine up a bit higher and am concerned about the pump priming. Will the engine height effect the priming and performance of the pump?

Thanks Moose13

The ideal situation would be the pump below the tank but if your luck is like mine ideal never materializes. Mine is above the level of the oil by 12" or so and works great, it is a pump after all and will draw oil up.....Mike
