There was a good medical reason to fight naked. If you saw the film master and commander the concern for the doctor was the piece of material that was taken into the body by the slug as this would be a source of infection. So if you fought with no clothes on less chance of infection????

Actually clean up was faster, thus morale was (+), (-) accordingly.

This may be totally off base, but I seem to recall reading that the '300' consisted of 150 homosexual 'couples'. It is my understanding that this was a common aspect of Greek male military life. This was later reflected in the homosexuality within the **** Brown Shirts, prior to WWII, that used the Greeks as a model.

I'm not sure if the 300 where gay couples. They may have been since for most of their life time the men where with other men almost exclusively. Marriage was for political reasons and to have children. Alexander the Great had a unit that was supposed to have been gay couples, I want to say they where The Immortals but the Persians had a unit with a name that was close so I might have them confused.

The NAZIS and gays seemed to have been all over the place. They sent homosexuals to the concentration camps but some of the leadership was gay. One of the Brownshirt leaders was gay and ****** is supposed to have walked into a room where "stuff" was happening which freaked him out. Course he was a freak to say the least. This led to the Brownshirt leader's death. This may have been a setup to purge the guy since the Brownshirts where fighting for power with ****** and the SS.

Interesting tidbit about ****** and Stalin. ****** had what seemed to be a love affair with his niece. She tried to get away from him and she is supposed to have committed suicide.

Stalin would humilate his wife in public which led to fights. After he was pretty secure in his position they had another fight and she left the party they were attending. She is supposed to have gone and committed suicide.

Both of the women where found shot. In the heart. Pretty hard to shoot oneself in the heart.... Possible but hard.

I think the Scots fought naked out of pure savagery. At that time in history they were still primitive tribes. But they were still too much for the Romans, which was rare. Or, maybe, they just didn't want to get their cloths dirty in battle. Hate when that happens.

Rohm was the leader of the SA and was known to be gay all along. ****** did use that against him prior to the Night of the Long Knives in which the SA was purged. But, Rohm and the SA were destroyed due to a power struggle, as you mentioned. The gay angle was just part of the excuse. ****** was well aware of the homosexuality in the SA and did nothing as long as they served his purposes. Goering, even though he had a family, was probably gay. Just look at the uniforms he designed for himself.
