New Holland TC35DA
Hello everyone

Im one of those types that dosent post often but I do follow along with all the nifty topics presented here. Last year I had purchased a Montanna 3040 from "A Tractor Shop" and I was completely happy with its performance. Due to some unforseen circumstances shall we say, I no longer have use of this tractor (mumbles somthing about failed business partnerships).

Not content to be a man without a tractor we worked extra hard and managed to come up with a budget to purchase another tractor. In hindsight the montanna was a tad underequiped for what I was trying to do with it so this time round I re-evaluated what our needs were for a compact yet powerful tractor to use on our ranch.

I have always loved the features on the New Holland Boomer's and until recently, had thought they were out of my price range. But as luck would have it, my favorite tractor dealer (A tractor shop) just so happened to have a slighty loved TC35DA sitting on their lot. Needless to say it is now sitting in my barn as it was delivered to me just a few hours ago. An amazing deal to say the least, the TC35DA w/16LA loader including a 6 foot brush mower and a 6' box blade was one deal i could hardly pass up.

I barely have a full hour of seat time on this unit but all I can say is WOW! this is an impressive piece of equipment an I am absolutley amazed with my pratically new TC35DA. Perhas it is a tad unfair to compare a Montanna 3040 to this TC35 but i just can't express how much more of a workhose this units is compared to the lil 3040. Who knew the slight upgrade would make such a huge difference overall.

Now all that is left is to add all the usuall goodies (ie: grapple, top n tilt, remotes out back, etc.. ). I hope I can bring myself to stop using it once in a while to actually get to work on the upgrades.

Nice tractor there Jae and welcome to the Blue Team. :D You will even love the TC35 more when you get more seat time. I know I do with my TC35.

Waited years to get my first machine, an "04 TC35 with the 16la. Like yours, it was slightly used (325 hours). Now I have 935 hours and it has NEVER (repeat NEVER) failed me! You're going to love: the great view to the FEL, the easy to use loader joystick, the hydraulic strength for its size, the maneuverability. If you plan on using it it the dark (winter snow removal, late night chores), I'd add some work lights off the ROP brackets. See my thread in Customization. The TC headlamps are often blocked by the FEL. Also, if you don't have it on the bucket, I'd get a bolt on cutting edge right away so you don't wear your edge off (I do alot of stone and driveway work).

Good ideas all..and thanks for the well wishes....

I don't think snow is going to be a problem here In Texas but I do have some driveway work to do with my new steed. I am completely happy with my TC35DA so far. It came with 102 Hours on it and I've added 6 to that over the last two days. I don't want to put it straight to work without giving it the once over as there were a few minor items the previous owner neglected to fix. Just a few bent bits out back, easy to fix and nothing to worry about but giving the fluid levels, filters and zerks some scrutiny will help ease my mind if nothing else. I do plan to add some lighting and your ideas have also given me a few of my own in regards to where to put the darn things.

My TC35 runs like a dream and is practically showroom new even though it is an 05 model. Couldn't be more pleased....

I do have some projects planned in the future once the barn, workshop, house, arena, etc.. is built I may have some time for a few modifications.

I will of course keep everyone posted when that happens :)

Randy,
Love the New Holland page, very well done..

Jedjoe ,
How is that ATI grapple workin for ya, I was thinking of that very same unit for my TC. Any problems you have encountered with it? I am torn between building a grapple from scratch (already have the tools and knowhow) or just saving the time and purchasing one.

Small world...I bought my 35 at the same stage in the big plan, built our farm from the dirt up. Started in '04 and hope to be moved in by spring '08. Couldn't have done with the "Dutch" as we named our tractor.

Used the tractor to dismantle an 1818 center chimney cape for reassembly. That's where I came to appreciate the excellent view from the cab and the strong hydraulics. Some of those timbers were mighty heavy, not to mention the granite slab foundation stones.

If you plan on building, first attachment I'd get is a set of quick attach forks!

I have a grapple on my bucket, and that thing has been handy for lifting rocks and holding them in the bucket and clearing logs and brush.

Finally, a drag harrow for smoothin' out gravel, stone dust, and topsoil!

Grapple was doing great these last three years until last week, when the joint that attaches the claw to the hydraulic cylinder broke (see my post). I don't weld, but know someone who does great work and we'll try a fix first. ATI quoted me about $400 with freight to get a new claw. Truth be told, it's done alot of hard work....

What it is particularly good at is picking rocks and then holding them in the bucket without having to get out and chain the darn thing. I can also hold more hale bales in the FEL, as I can balance the bales and then clamp down on them.

Goes without saying that it speeds brush moving.
