Got the Engine Oil change done on time, but I just couldn't give up my machine for the tranny. Well, 68 deg F today, bugged the cr$$p out of me being late, but today I got it done...4hrs and a pain in the *****. Changed the fluid/filter/cleaned the screen, and (2) fuel filters. Thanks to all the posters that gave me inspiration.
The Tranny fluid was smokey gray and the fluid screen was gunked up, fuel filters black. ( I use a filter when fueling). BX new on May 11th, 2014.

I'm wondering where you are buying your diesel. My fuel filters weren't replaced until 300 hours. I use Power Service year round. I'm wondering if this is the difference.

Makes me wonder about your fuel source as well. My 2005 B3030 has over 600 hrs on it and I am still on the original fuel filter. The bowl is clear and the filter still looks clean. I don't use any additives. I just buy fuel from busy stations that sell a lot of diesel so I know it is fresh. I do have a new filter on hand though, just in case.

I've never had anything but clear trans fluid on any Kubota at the 50 hour filter only change, on the dip stick and at the 200 and 200 plus changes. Also have never changed a fuel filter on any of the diesels.

You might want to try getting diesel from a different place because I have almost 170 hours on my BX2370 and still have the original fuel filters as well.

Hi all, Thanks for the feedback. I'm very careful with my fuel source because I also own a Ram Cummins. That being said, I buy my fuel at the local Shell, drain and clean my filters, and have never had an issue with the truck. It's a very clean station and they run a lot of volume thru their pumps.
However, when I went to the K dealer for the BX filters and oils, he told me to change the filters at 50hrs, they get dirty quickly. I'm more concerned about the T fluid having that smokey look. I had expected I was wasting good fluid at 100hrs but I was really glad I went with new Super UDT (3.1 gal)

The fuel issue is strange, that's for sure. As for the gray trans fluid, keep a real close eye on that while you still have warranty. If your new fluid gets dirty I would contact the dealer and have it looked into. Good luck.

I had to change both fuel filters at about 150 hrs on my BX due to engine bogging down on hills. Replaced and problem instantly solved. I'm planning on retrofitting a B series type filter soon for easier change and I think better filtration. This will eliminate one filter as well.

Ive been thinking same thing. The B style has a water trap right? Get that done soon so i can copy it will ya;)

You said your trans fluid was smokey grey. If you had said milky grey I would suspect you had some water in it. Could be just condensation. As for the fuel, if you are sure it is not the source then what does the inside of your tank look like ? Is it bio diesel ? That can grow a troublesome fungus in your tank especially in damp climates like the cape has.
