OK, I posted about 8 weeks ago asking about moving some sod and said I'd post pictures when I was done. ...and I know how much the peeps around here like pictures
I'm approaching 3 years as a tractor owner and just about to the 150 hour mark. I know that's not much, but I don't have a farm, I just use it around the house.
My first major project was 2 years ago http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/john-deere-owning-operating/132873-my-790-finally-has-home.html. I mentions this project because I ended up with a large pile of leftover dirt, which I finally put to use for this project! My back yard had a fair slope in it. In fact, it was made from the dirt left over when my basement was dug. I needed a flat spot about 25 ft wide, and that's where it began.
I laid the foundation for a 40ft retaining wall with water and electric.
The wall is built and the flat spot is mostly flat.
Now it's really flat with blocks set for pool supports and sand layed out.
The ground is tilled and almost ready for sod.
The pool is up and running, and the misery of planting/aligning/cementing the 12ft 6x6 post is done.
Moving along with floor joists.
The floor is decked, the posts are trimmed, stairs are up and starting on the railing.
Retaining wall side after sod.
The end.
I still need to lay about 1/2 pallet of sod, but I'm going to wait until the end of the month.
They say pools are great exersize and sometimes you even swim in them! Admittedly this is 70% for my 9yr old son, 40% for my wife and -10% for me. Since the pools been running in early June my son has gotten over his fear of water and has learned to swim a bit. He's really enjoyed it, so that made it worth it all. I did manage to loose 8lbs over the summer. We've had a heat index between 105 and 115 most of the summer here.
