latest on my new trailer saga

as some of you know I went out and got a gooseneck trailer a couple weeks ago.

( unit looks great, pulls awesome.. etc. ).. went to tag it.. dmv had some issue.. manufacturer didn't have that make/model in the computer. I got them to give me a temp tag ( 10day ).. that ran out.. got another... that one runs out sunday... have talked to the dealer.. he says he's never had this problem, and he called state dmv and should be ok. check back at tag office.. and still nada.

anyone else ever have this problem.

monday I'll be getitng my 3rd temp tag which they will likely start charging me for.. first 2 were free.. now will be 7.50 per 10 days at a time.. not that that's alot.. but I'm kinda tired of the state not letting me tag my trailer.. I got the mso.. weight slip.. insurance.. etc.. etc.. what gives?

That really stinks, I've had issue with CT DMV with title's. When you register the trailer you either need to tag it as commercial or a camp trailer. All of mine are tagged camp. But they take the title from you and will not give it back. I've fought with them for over two years. The claim if you sell it that the DMV in that state has a book that tells them that ct takes the title. It sounds like more political BS that you and I pay for. I hope you have more sucess than I've had. Good luck!

Don't understand why no title, I bought that Bri-Mar, turned in the paperwork at the Enfield DMV and within the month got a new title sent to my house,,,

yes, right off as a camp trailer,, I recently traded it in at Woodbury tractor and they can tell you I got the title within a month,,, Something is wrong wherever your going.. Only, only if you are financing the trailer and that means whoever is holding the paper, would receive the title until you pay it off,,

If this goes on any longer I'm thinking of telling them to register it as a homeade trailer. i have the weight.. that's usualy all they need. will see how that one flies..

Problem is all the dmv in our county are linked thru 1 main office... and I don't want to tag it in another county..

I have never had a issue. Only thing I had to do special on a few of mine is if in Indiana you buy from out of state you have to have a police check. We do not have a DMV, we have a BMV. Bureau of Motor Vehicles but the same thing really. Anyway with anything out of state you go to the web site or stop in the office and get form. You fill it out and call your local law. They usually say we can have a officer stop by from __ to __ when we have a free moment. One time they told me if I had time just come to the sheriffs office. They look it over and the title and sign it off. You take that to the BMV and you are good to go.

here, if you have a 'home built' trailer, all it needs is a weight slip to prove unloaded weight, then it is registered and tagged according to weight just like any other trailer.

If they hassle me much more I'm gonna ask them to just tag it as home built... it's becoming evident that the state government is too big for it's own pants if they can't tag a trailer.... man.. I need a govt job.. get paid and don't do yer job..
