My boss's boss has a go fast 30 odd foot long sunsation speed boat. Last day of boating this past fall, out for a few hours mainly to warm for winterizing. Tide's out, shallow ramp. Kept backing down farther and farther. Boat not floating, just a bit farther, thunk, and she's afloat. Cool, but what was that thunk??? Oh well, it's a nice fall day, get the boat secure, get the truck (3/4 ton 4x4 Chevy) and trailer up on land and let's go play. Well, most everyone probably recognized that thunk as the sound the trailer makes when the tandems go off the end of the concrete, and the trailer frame lands on the ramp. Not a chance the chevy was going to snatch it back up that concrete ledge. He's a big guy, walked out in the 50 deg water to dead lift the trailer. Note above, 30' long boat. Big trailer. Finally had to hook the rear of the trailer to the front cleats on the boat and back the boat up, thus raising the trailer up a bit, then over powering the boat with the truck and yanking the trailer back up the ramp aways. Made for a not real pleasant last day of boating.
He called me when he was headed out wanting to know if I wanted to go. Working on garage, couldn't make it. Darn.
