Lauson Engine

I have recintly aquired a Lauson 55S-111 engine, serial # 5184519. I was tring to find out what year these engines were produced and how rare or collectable they are.
Any Info Appreciated-

When I was a youngster back in the late 50's an early 60's, I think lauson, tecumseh, an power products was all one company, or owned by one company. They built lawn mowers (push) close to where I lived in K.C. an the name of them were Crew-Cut mowers. They used lauson engines on all of those back then. We had one an when it needed any engine parts my Dad went to the local mower shop to get them. If I remember right, the parts packages said tecumseh an lauson on them. The power products engines were the companys chain saw an go kart 2 cycle engines. I used to race karts an my engine back then was a power products Super 58.
