Excellent advice and suggestions thank you. So far I'm just completing the drum ... the "spikes" are 1/8" x 1.5" CR flat stock cut to at 45 degrees ... I've cut myself on them 3 times already
The will be cross braced at 3" from the tip to keep them from going any deeper than that and to facilitate rolling. This is not really for my "lawn" but more a manicured field that has been compacted by years of driving tractors across it. I think the fertilizer I put on it now and then just gets washed off the surface because it has no where to go.
npalen ... I didn't think of that solution ... I think I could design a 3PT that would lock straight when lifted and swivel when on the ground with a few minutes on the drawing board.
Basically I will just be towing this behind the BX2200 while mowing a couple times a year. Wife says to just pull the disk'er behind the 1715 .... I think that would make a mess of things.
I'll post pics of my progress.
