Lawn Care on a Larger Scale

Lawns:
Have any of you fellows considered long grass or short grass prairie for a lawn that is large and not just right around the house?

You should be able to find 2-4-D at about any Ag related store. We get ours from a local Ag. Co-op,have also seen it at a TSC store.I normally pay around $26.-$30. for a 2-1/2 gal. jug. I apply at a rate of 1-1/2 to 2 quarts per acre.A word of caution,be carefull when applying in the Spring,the "drift" is very strong and will kill new garden plants and flowers very easily.That's the main reason I try to spray in the Fall,plus thats when the "Pros" say to spray also.

If you follow the Greenway to 15, then head north......just past the Rt 7 intersection you will see it on the left side of the road next to the DMV. Take a left at the first light, left into the parking lot (Sheetz Gas), and work your way around back in there.

No TSC in Charles Town - I live in Summit Point just south of there. But there is a Quality Farm & Fleet (old Central Tractor) on Route 7 just as you get into Winchester. I go there all the time.

Browning Equipment (Kubota Dealer) in Purcellville also rents attachments. I've rented a post hole digger from them. Real nice people.

I've taken the minimalist approach with my 3.5 Acres of ex-pasture. Just mow.

I couldn't remember which one was located near Winchester. QFF's come in a variety of names, but essentially are the same. I kinda lumped them all together. Nice to now about the dealer in Purcellville. More choices. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
