Kubota F3990
Hello everyone, I live in the Lower Mainland area of BC Canada and operate three different Kubota machines on the property where I work. In Spring and summer I do a lot og grass cutting with a Kubota F3990.

Thank you to all for the welcome.

I mow about at least 8 acres with a Kubota F3990. This is the machine that has been causing me headaches with the DPF Regen technology. It has only 324 hrs, new in 2014, and over those years there have had to be four forced regens by the dealer, two this year, an expensive way to address a problem.

I think the dealer suspects this is my fault because the ECM shows that there have been some instances of the engine being stopped during a regen, which is a no no. He says this bumps the regen up to the next level of severity, and in the end the owner has no choice but to ask for the help of the dealer to do the forced regen.

This has happened twice so far this year even though I have become very vigilant to not allow the engine to stop and also to follow all recommended steps for each stage of the regen [engine at low idle, parking brake on, PTO disengaged etc]. Both times this year the on board system went from the lowest stage with only the regen icon lit up, to the highest stage with the engine warning light flashing, in one jump. That is bizarre.

But the first time the dealer came out to do another forced regen in march he said he could find nothing wrong with the technology. Of course, he is able to disable and to subdue embedded bugs in the technology, do his thing, and then all is well, and he feels vindicated. I do not think that Kubota regen technology is exonerated.

I call this temperamental technology because it does not come out and shut me down all the time. There have been enough times when I can remember that I have hopped off the machine to unplug the grass chute and the engine has stopped, and nothing else has happened. Why does it only happen sometimes?? Furthermore, can Kubota not design some technology that is able to recover from the engine being shut off and go back to a restore point and continue to do its regen? That is how my home computer works.

Very long story short......I would like to be rid of this technology and delete it from the ECM module. So far I cannot find someone who can do that even though there are enough people

Thank you :)
How can I start a new thread so that I can get more exposure to my Kubota problem to more members and hopefully more replies??
Thanks!

Sorry Mate but who are you directing this question to?

You can "Reply With Quote", as I have done... it'll help clarify who you're replying to.

Sorry for that, I am just learning how to navigate this site and I think I sent my reply to the wrong person. Cheers to Tasmania!

Hi guys-

I'm new to the forum and just bought a 2017 F3990 with 300 hours on it. I'm having some trouble with the rear tires damaging my turf on about every turn unless I make a 3 or 4 point turn every time. I've noticed that my rear tires seem to be out of alignment which I think could be causing my issue. My tie rod doesn't seem to be bent but I'm wondering if it has been replaced with the wrong tie rod. When measuring a straight line (not following the curve of the tie rod), mine measures 26 7/8" from center of one bolt to the center of the other. In order to have proper alignment, it should be closer to 28". Would one of you be so gracious to measure yours to see how long it should be? And/or do any of you have any issues with yours damaging turf when turning? Thank you!
