Lawnmower battery

Regardless which battery you install on equipment that see's long periods (more than 2 weeks) of non-use,connecting a smart charger for 24 hours (or 24-7-365 for that matter) once per week will drasticly extend battery life, not to mention being more powerful during it's life. T.

My motorcycles get charge middle of winter and night before I first ride them in spring. I get 7 years or so. During early spring I got more than 2 weeks. My lawn mowers often go over 2 weeks, I am not into cutting grass.

I am not saying trickle charges are bad. But I think they are more useful people who don't want to make the effort to put the charge on perodically. Same with my ATVs and snowmobiles.

I pull the little battery out of my riding mower and it's in the back bedroom. Put a battery maintainer on it every three months or so. Just a habit - it's not an expensive battery.

The motorcycle, tractor & Power Wagon all have battery maintainers on them. These three have expensive AGM batteries.

Check the prices at Rural King if you have one in the area, they carry Exide batteries in my area (maybe that is regional, maybe not?) and the price for my last battery purchase was looking to be over $100 at auto parts houses, and a buddy told me to check RK and I found that same battery group size for $49. It's been in use for a year now with no issues, and I don't expect issues from an Exide produced battery. I know that it does not always work out that way, some of the RK batteries are no better deal than a parts house.

What L&G battery has more than 90 days warranty? WM, NAPA, Advance Auto, Auto Zone, etc....anywhere I'd think to go get a L&G battery they all have same 90 day warranty :( I would pay more for a 5 year warranty like an automotive - I'm sure I'd get my $'s worth as they never last that long for me.....

Even a powersports AGM like for a jetski or motorcycle - a lot of those are 90 days even. I think my OEM BMW m/c battery was a lot longer but cost way more too.

Can't agree more...! 90 day warranties are almost an insult. Almost like buying something "as is"..
A win/win for the manufacturer.

Try not to put a battery in right before you store something over winter. Otherwise your warranty is gone before you even get to put it to use.
