Hi to everyone here. This looks to be a pretty good site.
I'm currently looking at a lb1914 at a dealer near me. It has a loader and aroud 260hrs. Is there a belly mower option for this? He say he has one for it, which runs off the rear pto. If this does not have a live pto the mower will stop when I depress the clutch, correct? This doesn't sound good.
If anyone can share their knowledge about this setup and anything else, it would be very helpful. Also, would a 5' rottotiller be too much for it.
Thank You
Rich

I have seen some belly mowers that are setup like this, and Kioti use to have one. You are correct on the PTO, it is not live. I have many people using finish mowers on tractors that do not have a live PTO. I would stick with a 47" or 55" tiller at the max. One thing to check is what the Minimum PTO HP that is required on the brand tiller that you are looking at. Tillers are PTO hogs.

Is there any reasons why they discontinued the belly mower?
Pros/cons?
Thank You

My Ck20 gear doesn't have a live PTO either but I haven't found it to be much of a problem at all. I have a 60"mmm on my tractor and I like to mow in 1 high. It's pretty much a one-gear operation for me and I don't need to change directions either.
I agree with Jon Depratt a 47" or 55” tiller is all you'll want on these machines. In places my 47" tiller will want to drag my rpms down, I've had throttle left to compensate, I'm not sure you would if had a 60" tiller on. Good Luck. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Not for sure why they don't. I would imagine that sales were low, so they decided to drop them.

I'm using a 52" tiller on my CK20, and that's the max I'd go. In virgin territory, I go really slow or it would lug the engine down too much. The CK20 has just a tad less PTO HP than the 1914.
Jon DePratt, I can't remember, doesn't the 1914 have an overrunning clutch like the CK20 so that the PTO won't push the tractor? John

Thanks everyone for the info. The deal is still up in the air. I'm waiting for some numbers. If they're good enough, I could probably live with the pto not being live.
