House is about 2 years old and now a lot of the area around it is sinking or settling. The leach field to the septic system has settled the most.
Was wondering if pulling a disc over it would cut the high spots down and allow me to level it out.
Or can someone give me a good way to do it.

Thanks

If it were me, I probably wouldn't disc harrow it.. but might use a drag harrow. They do a good job of leveling soil. If you have grass over it, that is a different story... might have to box it a little.
My disc is a small dual axle... to get good breakup, I would have to make multiple passes, whereas the other ways might correct the problem in fewer pases. Your implimints may/are probably different than mine though.

If your septic tank sinks - you could be looking at a broken inlet - which will back up your drains/toilets. Speaking from experience here - my 4" inlet broke when my tank settled about 2" -- but for some reason my outlet pipe didn't break ??? It tilted a bit so maybe that's why - anyway keep an eye out for it - it's something that you have to jump on immediately. It will help if you have a cleanout before and after the tank..... btw it took about 4 years for that to happen -

The tank is not sinking. It is only the normal settling of the soil over the field lines, I hope. Problem is when mowing it is like driving through a plowed field. Would like to level it without doing much damage to the grass already growing. Anyone have the same problem or any suggestions as to how I can level it.

Thanks Daryl

I have been, when it's very dry, dumping FEL buckets with top soil from other projects into some low spots and over time the grass fills in to the new soil. A mojor renovation should be done with light weight equipment and not large farm size/weight units. Basically, if your leaving even the tinyest ruts in the ground with the tires, then stop and wait for it to dry out more.
There should be at least 6-8" of soil on top of the gravel in your trenches, a hand tiller would work well to break up the soil, but not too fine.
You could also get a load of sand and shovel it into the low spot a 1" or 2" at a time and the grass will grow through the sand ok.
