I posted the same question in another area. Should have put it here first anyway. Does any one have or know if they work a agri-fab lawn vac. They are sold around here at Lowes and Tractor supply. They have are the cheapest priced around $950 compared to cyclone trac-vac which are about 1000-1500 more. I have about 2 acres that fill up with oak and maple leaves. the mowing over and over and raking are beginning to get old. thanks

I don't have an agrifab but my neighbors across the way do! Two years ago I recommended they go to TSC and look the leaf vacuum over. I did recommend they get the upgraded one with the chipper for about $300 more and they did. Where there are leaves, there are twigs and branches. The chipper makes it quite handy to pick up any branches to big for the mower deck to handle. They are quite happy with it. They use it throughout the season to pick up the grass clippings to. I've had a Trac-Vac for the past 15 years. This type of tow behind system works the best for me. Both the Trac-Vac and the Agrifab really packs 'em into the trailer.

I've wondered about these. How do they hook up to the mower deck? The reason I ask is my Toro has a big metal chute instead of a plastic affair I see on most mowers.

The agrifab has a generic plastic one that hangs on the end of the mower deck that you customize yourself. It's molded one piece plastic. You cut a hole in it, for the leaves to pass through, to match up with the end of the mower deck. The Trac-Vacs are metal and custom made for each model of tractor.

I'm not quite sure what your toro has, picture by chance?

The discharge chute on the deck is all metal and takes up the entire side of the deck. It's shaped to spray the clippings in a fan pattern. I'll try and get a pic tomorrow in the daylight.

Most mowers I've seen lately just have a hole in the side with a rubber chute to deflect debris and clog with grass.

Scott,

Instead of mounting the vacuum chute right on the end of the deck It looks like you could cut the hole in the chute so it would slide over the end of the deck. It would slide over the deck maybe 1" -2", just enough so you would not get blowby on the rear edge of the deck exhaust chute. Once you get it lined up, then set your mounting hardware in place.

Scott,

I went to the agri-fab web site and found the manual for the leaf vacuum. It has a basic picture of the chute and the various hardware for mounting.

When you get to the page, click on...download for parts manual.
