Leaking couplings

As the others have stated the swivel fitting should be removed, it is what we call a JIC type fitting,not NPT. What you will need is a reducer that has NPT threads on both ends. The fitting you need would be a 1/2" Female NPT X 3/8" Male NPT, just make certain that the fitting you purchase is rated for the working pressure that your hydraulic system puts out. companies make NPT swivel connectors that from the outside look very similar to JIC swivels. That is why I asked RJJR to take the fittings apart and look at them. Helps end a lot of speculation and guess work.
It is possibly but very unlikely that the hose ends are JIC.

Ok, I want to thank everybody for helping me last night. The picture posted by MPHAM sealed the deal. i took it apart, cleaned the threads and it looked to me to match the picture so I put it all back togehter carefully and tightened it down. Opened the jaws a time or two and didn't see any leaks. Note: The nuts on the coupling didnt spin this time. Not sure if they work like jam nuts or if I had tape in them but everything locked down tight and seems to be working. Going to post a couple of pictures of my new toy. I can already see why so many people love grapples.
