My front tire (3yrs old) on my 770 is leaking in one small spot on the bead(rim). What is the best method to deal with this? Some sort of leak stop or just put a tube in it and be done with it?
Thanks

I'd deflate it, look at the area & see if you have something lodged in it first. It's not hard to pick up something if you've been doing some clearing or just something being in the wrong place at the right time.

On my 4410 I don't even bother to try to go without tubes anymore. New tires get new tubes. I just have a lot less trouble with flat tires and slow leaks.

I put tubes in the fronts on my JD 4010 at about that point (3 yrs). Tried using that stop leak stuff (Slime?). Worked for a short while.

I had very good luck with Slime in my little B2150's front tires a few years ago to plug multiple thorn punctures. But I don't think it would be very effective for a bead leak, where flexing of the rubber against the metal rim will be constant. Just my guess, tho. I'd deflate, check for a foreign object. If the rim surface is rusted or otherwise damaged, I'd just go with a tube, as was suggested.

I've had good luck with slime in my fronts... never bought the stuff until I read about it here.

The rears I had foamed filled... so no chance of a flat!

Years ago the dealership I worked at had this stuff. It even worked on old rusty rims that look like they would never seal. VERY sticky stuff, try not to get it on your hands or anything besides the bead. You break the bead and spray it on the bead then re-inflate the tire.

Just recently I tried finding the HUG stuff locally and struck out...settled for the NAPA branded stuff that brushes on. So far I'm 0-1 using it on car rims so I'm planning to buy some HUG from my old boss next time I visit my folks.

Bite the bullet tube both front tires one less headache down the road.

Tube for sure is one good solution.

What often can happen is a bit of water get in there, some rust starts and air leaks out of the rusty (porous) area.
Pulling the tire and wire brushing the rim will cure that type of problem but it will just come back as bare metal will rust.
