can anyone explain to me how I tighten a leaking hydraulic connection on one of my FEL hoses?? I can't seem to get the nut to turn with out moving the solid metal hose which I didn't think was very good. There is like three different nuts and I want to be sure I'm doing it right.

Thanks

Hold the nut that is closest to the one that you want to tighten with one wrench and gently tighten the other one. If the middle adapter is loose where it enters the metal pipe, tighten it first and then tighten the hose to adapter.. Use snug fitting wrenches and better yet, if you have tubing wrenches, use them... Sometimes you have to loosen something to tighten what is behind it and then re tighten the first thing. Hope that all this makes sense to you.....

By all means, invest in the correct sized tubing wrench. I don't understand why they make a difference, but they definitely do. I've had the same experience with fuel lines on my truck. A regular wrench just gets you into trouble, but once I bought a tubing wrench, things came apart and went together easily.

thanks junkman. I think I got the two connections tightened. Both were on the loader. The guy who put this together must of had a bad day:(
